Right: He With Glands of Wasp by Rohan Wealleans at the 17th Biennale of Sydney, Cockatoo Island
I went to Cockatoo Island for the 17th Biennale of Sydney on Friday instead of staying home and writing the article I'm currently procrastinating on. I went because the Biennale closes next week and didn't have another day free except Sunday and I really hated the idea of jostling with the weekend crowds. Besides which, Sunday was the Aroma Festival (coffee, chocolate, tea and spice) at The Rocks, which I went to instead of doing my article also.
I sound like a bludger but in fact it was an act of rebellion of me trying to claw back some of my time seeing as I've practically worked full time since I went part time. And I really mean it. To my horror, I discovered that I am doing the same amount of work as I did when I started at Loyalty but only given half the time and for less pay.
This, of course, is my fault as I devised this part-time model myself, but I can see exactly where it came from: I took as my benchmark the ridiculous hours I was doing working on three magazines and halved it. Half of two jobs is one job, not half a job - der! Instead I should've realised how it compared to my humble beginnings.
Anyway, I'm tired now so I'm just going to post this.
