Went to Leonard Cohen twice last week (review here). Well worth the $340 I paid all up. The first night I had crappy seats but I decided to just sit back and enjoy it. The second night I had kickarse seats and was able to take photos (see below). While the sets weren't completely different, he added 'Sister of Mercy' and swapped 'Democracy' for 'Closing Time' in the second show. Paul Kelly (support) played a completely different set.

Other than that, it was business as usual, interviewing for work, going through the contract with my solicitor and hanging around my parents' place for Chinese New Year dinner, which was really boring. I ended up watching the women's and men's doubles final of the Australian Open.
On Sunday I started watching the cricket (Australia vs New Zealand) and then we got bowled out for a poor 181 so I decided to watch the Nadal vs Federer Australian Open final. Then Australia rallied and managed to get off to a good start in the field so that by 10pm I was flicking between cricket and tennis, which has never happened before, I don't think.
Well, NZ won off the last ball and Nadal won in the fifth set, both deserving wins considering what each had to go through to get there. I like that Australia came back into the game, but ultimately they cannot afford to be complacent around NZ, especially in the one-dayers. Likewise, I love Federer's style (and have you ever seen someone so utterly beautiful?) but I think he also took some shots for granted against Nadal, who is the champion of retrieving seemingly lost shots. That's why I admire Nadal - he's plucky and persevering.
Anyhow, not much else to report. Still have to finish my Japanese homework from last week. Sensei was nice about it but I think she will be ultra insistent this week...
