Oh dear. I know I haven't written in a while and there are several reasons for that. The strongest one is that I now write longhand in a journal for 10 minutes before I go to bed, debriefing the day, and sometimes I forget that I haven't blogged what I've written there.
Others include incredible busy-ness and not being at home very often over the past two weeks. As a result, there is a great pile of laundry to do and my desk is almost buried in random bits and pieces. Which reminds me: must do tax return - gaah!
I've taken it pretty easy at work, though. I feel like I'm cruising through when I should be using pressure to work more productively. Perhaps there's a puncture?
Some of the biggest news:
Nukte got made redundant. Basically, we don't need a staff writer and she's not trained up enough to be an online editor. She seemed pretty happy about it, though - came in with a massive grin on her face, though who can say whether that's her usual glib denial. We had a really lame 'farewell' for her; she wasn't drinking alcohol due to Ramadan so drank almost an entire litre of Diet Coke (she does drink alcohol usually, and I know during Ramadan you're not supposed to eat or drink at all - go figure). Some idiot invited her around at 3pm on a Wednesday so we all basically spent two hours trying to make conversation. As everyone started to get drunker and drunker they kind of forgot she was there.
We've started looking for an online editor. Dan (ex-Red Apple) would be perfect, but he's started working at Wiliam. I did send him an email with a job description, though, hoping we could poach him.
Skippy's ex Matt (the one that also went out with her sister Helen) is Matt from Faredge, the company we outsource IT to. Actually, he doesn't per se work there any more, but he owns 20% of the business and he and his brother Chris owe Faredge to Loyalty as apparently they started the business in a corner of our office. How sweet.
There's a guy at TAFE that intrigues me. His name is James Leotta and he's at TAFE because his dad owns the Bose store in Neutral Bay and he's learning the ropes. Unfortunately the only info about him I can get off the net is on Facebook, so if anyone wants to look him up on my behalf and let me know if he's single and heterosexual, please do.
Speaking of which, I found out the other night that a guy I had a distinct crush on at uni (other than Justin, Greg and Tama), Raymond Miles, is not only the cousin of one of my long-standing primary school friends, but gay as well. Didn't pick that one from a mile off. But you all knew my gaydar totally sucks.
A final question: should I visit my new Guatemalan friend Roberto at his restaurant Mayan Coffee in Waterloo, even though he believes that I shouldn't write a novel about privacy because civilisation as we know it will end in environmental disaster in 20 years?

Alas, the Facebook-profile of Mr. Leotta is open to his friends only, so I can't access it :(.
Thanks for trying!
How about Jonathon Valenzuela?
Same thing, I can't access it :(.
