Jammed

Lots on this week largely due to the fact that I thought I had everything I needed for the November issue of Dynamic Export but it turns out I didn't. Surprisingly managed to pull a great deal of it together in a week but not without a couple of palpitations.

On Thursday evening I introduced Ass to Ichi Ban Boshi (aka noodles-as-big-as-your-head eatery) and then we went to the State Theatre to see Deep Blue Orchestra, as I had bought tickets for her birthday. It was really good, I liked it a lot. I enjoyed the vigour of the music and most of the visual accompaniment. I was a bit lukewarm about the dancing around playing instruments as it all seemed a bit contrived and there was so much audiovisual going on as it was that 'performing' was a bit superfluous.

Then on Friday I saw A Clockwork Orange at The New Theatre in Newtown with Stuart after eating a dodgy felafel (thankfully no repercussions as yet). And then on Saturday morning I broke my showerhead so I made him come with me to Bunnings to get a new one and then made him install it. It's like Hire-a-Hubby except I pay him with food.

In the meantime, our shower caddy also passed away so I spent a good deal of today looking for a new one after travelling to my parents' place to check on the house. The ordeal of checking on the house comes to the grand total of $12.40 ($6.40 for a return trip on the train and $3 each way to/from the station) and three hours travel. I drove my mum's car to the shops and ended up buying some summer clothes suitable for work (ie not tshirts) so the trip then cost me more.

Everywhere I went to find a shower caddy I found shower caddies that were too small. The one we have currently has two 'shelves' for bottles, a soapdish and a loofah hook. Let's just say it's big enough to hold all of Sir's preening products (and there are a lot of them) plus my two one-litre pump bottles: body wash and shampoo. It came with the apartment, so we don't know how old it is. Anyway, it's just the hanging bit that's broken so I've strung it up with ribbon until we can get another one.

AND this morning Yuko gave birth to baby Cecilia so I am now officially an aunty. I haven't received any pics yet as my dad doesn't know how to send them from my bro's computer and my bro will remain at the hospital until Yuko and Cecilia are released tomorrow. Apparently the baby's hair is really long.

Still haven't done my tax.
