Well, I've finished up on my business story, which was the main motivation for my personal pinball record (see previous entry) but all it means is I have to pitch for the next commission and meanwhile work on one of three things; the website I'm supposed to be setting up that has been on a month's hiatus, job applications (and more job applications) and my next zine. The first has money in it, the second may have money in it and the third is unlikely to have money in it.
Fairly boring week, most of it devoted to work and amusing the relatives. Saw V for Vendetta on cheapo Tuesday, which was pretty good (I was in the middle of a review the other day when my connection cut out). Have been trying hard to exercise as often as possible by walking to the cinema (around 3km) and taking Chi'na for a walk. I'm finding it increasingly hard to do the latter because now that daylight saving has ended, it's getting too dark to walk her after business hours, let alone after dinner. So when the broadband connection was disrupted on Friday (an ISP fault) I took an ecstatic Chi'na out for an hour while they fixed it. I met Amanda on the way home - she had taken a day off work to do a practice hair session for her wedding (actually I met her mum first, who was outside for precisely the same reason I was). The wedding! In less than two weeks!
Apart from the big dinner at Pyrmont's we had for friends and family on Friday there was an excursion with Jade on Saturday where we went around to a number of secondhand book shops selling our unwanted books. I got about $20 and spent about $45 on petrol (I didn't use all the petrol of course, just illustrating a point). Took so long to get there, like an hour and a half, and only 40 mins to get back. Jade also gave me another large pile of clothes to sell on eBay so that's something I can add to my 'things to do' list.
I haven't seen Stuart for almost two weeks either, and we've only had two brief conversations on the phone since then. I'll be going over to his place tomorrow to finally unburden myself and celebrate the end of at least one obligation. Hopefully we can spend more time together during the Easter holiday when business hours don't exist. I am very much looking forward to sleeping in for a bit as well.
Tonight I'm attending the first meeting of the writers' group I've joined. It's Lee TL's initiative so I'm expecting to get on my knees and hail "I'm not worthy" after about half an hour. But you know what they say. Actually, I don't really know how the saying goes but it's something about improving when you're surrounded by people who are better than you.
Also, I've just decided that I've been putting on too much weight these past few weeks, even though my metabolism is pretty good and I'm exercising at least three times a week so I figure I've been eating too much and have just put myself on a junk restriction only to realise... Easter chocolate...
