Warning: Dates on the calendar are closer than they appear

Information and inspiration rich but time poor. It's always the way.

Spent a great deal of early last week preparing for Boff to actually physically move in, only for Wednesday to roll around with his message informing me that the removalist truck had broken down and he still had a quarter of a house to pack and wouldn't re-order the truck until he was done. Then he got sick, which slowed things down. The upshot of all that is I still have a half-empty house.

Also went to PMOz conference at Brighton-le-Sands on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. It was probably about the quarter of the size of the AIPM equivalent but the speakers and presentations were actually quite good. Did a lot of networking and made myself known to some key people, so I hope that translates into my life being easier down the track (ie ad sales financially, contributors editorially).

On Friday night I flew down to Melbourne with the rest of the Loyalty crew for Danielle's farewell. To recap: one of our clients holds a major exhibition in Melbourne in August, which is attended by approximately half our staff over the weekend. My boss Colin flew the other (ever diminishing) half down as well to celebrate Danielle's five and a half years at the company.

We went to Caffe e Cucina and stayed quite late, then headed to a bar called Fog in Prahran by which time everyone was starting to think of the early Saturday start (either working at the fair or catching a plane—only two staff and my boss were staying over the weekend for non-work purposes). At some point the boys lost Colin, but I don't know enough about the story to retell it here.

I was on the morning flight because I had a full weekend. First up was Cirque du Soleil's 'Saltimbanco' on Saturday night, which was a belated birthday present from Boff. Really enjoyed it despite the fact that, compared to other Cirque productions, it was more performance (read: acting and comedy) than acrobatics.

We were supposed to go to lunch with my mum for her birthday on Sunday but then she cancelled ("too many lunches" was her excuse). I also had a card night with the new Game Lovers Meetup group in Alexandria, which was... interesting. (Boff: "If you find another boyfriend at this group, I'll hunt him down.")

Learnt how to play Spades and met a card shark German girl who is here until October on a working holiday visa, group owner Debbie, a friendly South African, and host John, who was a little odd. He seemed 'reformed'. By that I mean he is a vegetarian and teetotaller under some life improvement directive. My pseudo-proof is that following the event he sent a group email to all the participants with affirmative statements about each of us.

Today I lost the morning to packing for Singapore/Malaysia, laundry and a post office run (and faffing around online with work-type stuff), then lost the afternoon to a trip to Bunnings to find something to protect my VegTrug from possums and cats while I'm away. PLUS a detour to the Karmee coffee roastery, which I found out is just around the corner from me.

In the evening I went to see 'Green Lantern' with Assie and a couple of her friends. It wasn't fantastic, but it wasn't mind-blowingly terrible either. The worst I could say of it was that it was cheesy and clunky at parts, but then again so was 'Thor' and a lot of people thought that was all right.

Tomorrow I have a list of things to do as long as my arm—gah! This week will be a race to see what will win: my to-do list or the calendar.
