Longing for the long weekend

Extraordinarily productive day at work today. Need more of the same, really and I'll be right for the Easter long weekend, which is in just a few days.

Spent the week jumping from client to client and meeting with lots of eclectic people. On Wednesday I went to the 20th birthday party of a kids brand called Colorific and ended up coming back to work with a giant pink balloon (which I gave to Miranda, our production manager, whose birthday it is on Friday) and a balloon dragon, which was really cool.

On Thursday I went to the Ozomatli gig at The Metro, which was awesome, best gig I've been to since Prince, I reckon (yes, better than George Michael, though that was incomparable as it was a stadium show). Only problem was that their set didn't start until 11pm so it was close to 1am before I caught the last train northwards - and it only went to North Sydney.

To cut a long story - involving high-schoolers spilling out from the Greenwood, being chatted up by a teenager, a guy peeing in the street - short, I ended up catching a taxi home and managed to get to bed before 2am, though was quite worse for wear on the Friday.

Weekend consisted of going to see 'The Creative Spirit' at the Opera House as performed by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra (via Ichiban Boshi) with Assie. As part of the set they played Tchaikovsky's 'Pathetique', which is the first piece of classical music I *really* loved so I really enjoyed it. And the cello soloist for the Schubert piece was hot.

Yesterday I had to endure a morning with my parents being finicky, then went to the Flightpath Festival to see Cuthbert & The Night Walkers and The Snowdroppers. I invited Andrew (Ness' friend) along because last week at her picnic he said he wanted to go to more gigs with me and I didn't hear a peep from him, so I went by myself and had a pretty good time and bought some illustrations of musical instruments off a chick there.

Tonight I get to take my jewellery tree home and sort out my books. I'm so happy!
