It's all happening*

So I received a burst of motivation on Saturday, despite being dead tired, to clean out my house. This included throwing out everything of Sam's that couldn't be sold or donated, gathering the stuff to be donated into a big bag (which I took to Vinnies this morning), and listing his bed on Gumtree.

It also meant reorganising the pantry and fridge, now I can take up all the space in both, and doing a little declutter of my own stuff, in particular clothing. There's a clothing exchange night at Greenups to which I'll take some items, plus I have a bunch that will probably do okay on eBay and the rest have gone to Vinnies.

This followed an eventful Friday where my dad came over and I helped him change the locks (and fix the screen door). He also drove me to St Leonards to pick up a couple of parcels from the Northside Postal Facility (that place is the bane of my existence, seriously) and then dropped me off at Assie's place in Eastwood.

Boff and I helped her move some furniture since she's not allowed to lift anything due to her recent appendectomy—she had a carpet cleaning guy due in the next day. We left at around 10.45-ish and caught a train from Eastwood to Epping to change for one to Artarmon, but it appeared that everything along the Macquarie Park line stops early.

So we were just heading up the escalators to the other platforms to see whether the trains were departing from the other platforms or whether we could catch another train when a Gosford train (stopping all stations to Hornsby) pulled in. Boff suggested we catch that one up the line and then a North Shore one down the line, and I agreed.

I'll just say now that I'm not very good at escalators and stairs at the best of times but even worse when I'm going down an up escalator that has started to accelerate because there's someone on it. Boff was on the second-last step so managed to get off okay, but I was about five steps up, and didn't.

I fell of the escalator. Ouch. I rolled to avoid getting my hair or clothing or limbs caught in the ascending steps. And landed in a puddle of vomit that was beside the escalator. But we made the train.

The damage

The lowest downside is that I won't be able to wear the dress I was planning to wear for my birthday party this Saturday as it requires bare legs. My contingency plan is to wear a dress that looks nice with stockings.

Other than that it has been work, massage, and post facility visits. Also saw 'Source Code', which I thought was pretty good.

[* For all you non-cricket types out there (and at last count, I don't think any of you are into cricket), "It's all happening" is the catchphrase of cricket commentator Bill Lawry.]
